We think about skincare formulations differently. Our formulations are rooted in a deep knowledge of ayurveda and its attributes. we start with ingredients and research their capabilities in solving skin issues, we then look to blend and combine active ingredients from patented actives to plant extracts to find multi-pathways to solve skin concerns. our formulas contain up to 20 specifically chosen ingredients that each perform a function, but together work synergistically to help your skin concerns. we harness both scientifically proven plant actives combined with herbal plant extracts traditionally used in ayurveda and eastern traditions to offer effective skincare.

our products are designed, formulated, tested and manufactured in the UK with safe ingredients sourced from around the world.

All our products are free from: synthetic chemicals, GMO, toxins, fillers, artificial colours, artificial fragrances, parabens, phthalates, sulphates, DEA, petrochemicals, mineral oils, silicones, formaldehyde, triclosan, and chemical screens.  We are free from phenoxyethanol.

Our formulations do contain benzyl salicylate, citronellol, eugenol, geraniol, linalool in very low concentrations as constituents of our essential oils.  It’s worth noting that the EWG (Environmental Working Group) rating for these, refer only to the individual constituents extracted in a lab from the essential oil, or synthetically replications.  The ratings are not applicable to our formulas, as we never use extracted or synthetic constituents, only the pure naturally occurring essential oil.

All of our products are tested to ensure that they are biocompatible - meaning that they have a pH level as close as possible to the natural pH level of our skin. Our skin is an incredibly delicate organ and, just like every other organ, it works best in a certain environment. In our skin’s case, we talk about this environment in terms of a pH level. The pH scale ranges from 1 to 14, with all ilody products sitting between 4 and 8 - in line with the optimum pH being just below a 5 (as published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science) and 7 being considered ‘neutral’.

all of our fragrances come from botanicals, we never use synthetic fragrance.

we believe in working with nature to find the most powerful solutions for our skin, therefore we chose natural ingredients or naturally derived ingredients wherever possible. natural plant based ingridients have shown to be effective in creating results driven skincare.

Yes. The ilody skinare range is generally suitable to use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.  

We recommend patch testing before first use if you want to be cautious.  We also recommend you consult with your doctor or pharmacist and show them the ingredient list. You can find a full ingredient list on the product’s information page.

We do use essential oils, but generally only in very minimal concentrations within our natural fragrance.

we've chosen to work with glass products, bottles and serum pipettes can be washed and recycled in your normal collection.

at ilody we would like to move towards a more circular model and are looking to introduce refillable products in the near future.

our boxes are made from FSC paper and can be recycled.

we recommend storing products in a cool dark place and products should be kept upright.

usually a 30ml product should last approximately 3 months with 50ml and 100ml lasting a little longer.

yes our products are non-comedogenic.

our products are testing for safety and awarded an expiry date based on each formula, each product has a symbol on the packaging to advise on shelf life after opening. we advise that you follow this symbol when using the products to have safe, effective results.
